Learning has never been easier.
Yet…
learning has never been more confusing.
How is that possible?
Because today’s biggest problem is no longer the lack of information.
It is the abundance of it.
We Live in the Age of Information Overload
A few decades ago…
students struggled to find information.
Today…
they struggle to choose from it.
Search for Graphic Design.
Millions of results.
Search for Photoshop.
Millions more.
Search for AI.
Millions again.
Books.
Videos.
Blogs.
Courses.
Podcasts.
AI tools.
Every source promises to teach you.
Every source seems useful.
Every source looks important.
Soon…
the learner is no longer learning.
The learner is only choosing.
And too many choices create confusion.
The Real Question is No Longer…
“Where can I find information?”
The real question has become…
“What should I learn first?”
Imagine a beginner who wants to become a Graphic Designer.
One person says,
“Start with Photoshop.”
Another says,
“Learn Illustrator.”
Someone else recommends Canva.
Another says Figma.
Someone insists on AI.
Someone says branding.
Someone says UI Design.
Every suggestion sounds correct.
Every suggestion sounds urgent.
The beginner becomes overwhelmed.
Not because information is missing…
but because direction is missing.
A Beautiful Lesson from the Ramayana
There is a well-known story from the Ramayana.
When Lakshmana was seriously injured, Hanuman was sent to bring a life-saving herb.
He reached the mountain.
The herbs were there.
The medicine existed.
The solution existed.
But there was one problem.
He could not identify the exact herb.
So he brought back the entire mountain.
Today…
many learners are doing exactly the same thing.
They download complete courses.
Save hundreds of YouTube videos.
Bookmark dozens of websites.
Collect AI prompts.
Store thousands of PDFs.
Not because they need all of them…
but because they do not know which one is truly important.
The internet has given us the whole mountain.
Clarity helps us find the right herb.
Information Does Not Create Learning
Organisation Creates Learning
Imagine opening a library.
Millions of books.
Would reading them in random order make you educated?
Of course not.
Learning is never about reading everything.
Learning is about reading the right thing…
at the right time…
in the right sequence.
That sequence creates understanding.
That understanding creates confidence.
That confidence creates skill.
This is Why Learning Paths Matter
At ARTEK…
I don’t try to teach students everything.
That is impossible.
Instead…
I try to remove unnecessary confusion.
Every learner should know…
What to learn.
What not to learn.
How much to learn.
When to learn it.
And why it matters.
That is clarity.
A good curriculum is not a collection of topics.
It is a carefully designed learning journey.
Graphic Design Taught Me This Long Ago
I have seen Graphic Design evolve from pencil and paper to computers, software, the internet, and now Artificial Intelligence.
During that journey…
I watched every new technology promise to change the future of design.
And each one did.
But one thing never changed.
Good observation.
Clear thinking.
Understanding the problem.
Communicating the message.
Technology evolved.
Principles remained.
That was the real education.
Every new tool simply became another medium for applying the same timeless principles.
AI Makes This Even More Important
Artificial Intelligence can answer almost any question.
But AI cannot decide your learning journey for you.
Ask ten different questions…
and you may receive ten excellent answers.
But excellent answers do not automatically create an excellent learner.
Someone still has to decide…
what comes first.
What comes next.
And what can wait until later.
That is not an AI problem.
That is an education problem.
The Future Belongs to Learners with Clarity
The future will not reward people who collect the most information.
It will reward people who learn in the right direction.
Knowledge without direction creates confusion.
Knowledge with direction creates growth.
That direction is called…
clarity.
